I’ve long realized that I have to plan my time accordingly, otherwise I’m no good to the world.
Unfortunately, I haven’t been doing it, and I’ve been paying for it.
I have (and love) my Moleskine planner, but what good does it do if I don’t use it as I should? Besides, it’s not, shall we say, the “important” events with which I’m having trouble. It’s the ordinary, everyday tasks that find themselves on the backburner on most days.
For example, this week I did yoga only once. I’m not sure if I had breakfast at all. And I haven’t been playing GTA IV nearly as much as I want.
But that’s all about to change.
I’m going to establish a schedule so I know exactly what I should be doing when I should be doing it. It sounds strange to have to plan everything, but with so much going on, that’s the only way I’ll be able to get anything done.
I’m not complaining, though. I’m living and loving life and loving what I do. I do hate, though, that my time has been limited to do the things that I love. One of my best online friends has changed domains (yet again!) and I’m only recently finding out about it. Who knows what all my other favorite bloggers have been up to in the past few weeks?
Speaking of weeks, it took me quite a few to complete my 10.5 interview with the Brown Derby Haberdashery. Fortunately, the guys were understanding and patient, but I understand how unprofessional it was to keep them waiting. It won’t happen again, that’s for sure.
It’s time for a change.

Ah wasted time. One of the immortal questions of life is a matter of efficiency, one we never really have never ever addressed. Some humans get close to perfecting that art, but others rather revel in doing one specific thing and never letting up from that, thus never having to run and do something else. For people like you and me, though, we’ll never get every little thing done, and sometimes we’ll have to make sacrifices in the name of other endeavors. Either that or sacrifice a few hours of sleep, but I’m sure that’s already happening as is.

Personally, I’ve gone out to purchase a day planner and even went as far as planning out a whole semester on iCal. Unfortunately, after about 3 or so days, they bit the dust.
When I was younger, my mother told me this one thing:
“You’ve inherited my hustle, but at the same time don’t work yourself into forced solitude. Never forget to have a life b/c at the end of the day, that ’s what keeps you sane. Work Hard, Play Hard.”

Jose » So true, man. I’m implementing a bedtime with my schedule; I just hope I’m able to stick to it.
brran1 » My mom told me something similar to that on Friday. Moms always know what to say and what you need to hear.
